Kurz vor der Eröffnung der neuen U5 hatte ich die Möglichkeit mit einer sehr kleinen Gruppe die neuen U-Bahnhöfe Rotes Rathaus, Museumsinsel und Unter den Linden ansehen zu können. Rotes Rathaus⠀ Den Bahnhof Rotes Rathaus sollen nun täglich 35.000 Fahrgäste nutzen. In der gebogenen Halle wurden 3.540 anthrazitfarbene Terrazzo-Wandplatten verbaut. Mehr als 50% davon waren Einzelanfertigungen. Dies und die Säulen mit den Pilzköpfen, machen diesen Bahnhof so besonders. Museumsinsel Dieser Bahnsteig liegt 16,5 m tief, direkt unter dem Spreekanal zwischen dem Humboldt Forum und der Alten Kommandantur (Bertelsmann Haus). Seine Besonderheit ist der Sternenhimmel. Hierfür besteht die Unterkonstruktion aus rund 600 Stahlbögen, 80 Tonnen Stahl, zusammengefasst in 176 Baugruppen montiert an über 1.500 Winkelprofilen. Die „Sterne“ sind 6.662 Lichtpunkte. Unter den Linden Hier ist die Prognose, dass ihn jeden Tag 72.000 Fahrgäste nutzen. 50.000 sind Umsteiger. Dieser dreistöckige Bahnhof liegt direkt unter der Kreuzung Friedrichstraße/ Unter den Linden. Er ist 152 m lang und bis zu 17 m tief. Die Summe aller Fahrtreppen sind 183,8 m und es wurden insgesamt 910 Leuchten verbaut. Insgesamt haben seit 2012 auf der Baustelle ca. 6.000 Mitarbeiter*innen gearbeitet.
